Adriel Galbreath-Flores is a percussionist based in the San Francisco Bay Area. He currently studies Percussion Performance at San José State University, where he serves as Principal Percussionist of the Wind Ensemble. During his time at SJSU, he has also performed with the university orchestra, percussion ensemble, and the “Disrupt” new music ensemble, gaining experience across both orchestral and contemporary repertoire.
As a performer, Adriel has appeared as a soloist with the FOOSA Philharmonic, where he was named runner-up in the FOOSA Concerto Competition for his performance of Emmanuel Séjourné’s Concerto for Marimba and Strings. He has also performed at Walt Disney Concert Hall alongside professional musicians. In addition to his orchestral work, Adriel is an active freelance percussionist, regularly performing with a variety of ensembles and community organizations.
Throughout his musical development, Adriel has studied with several distinguished percussionists, including Artie Storch, Gary Heaton-Smith, and Divesh Karamchandani. He will graduate from San José State University in Spring 2026 with a Bachelor of Music in Percussion Performance and plans to pursue a Master of Music in Percussion Performance to continue developing his career as a performer.
